Specialty Moves

Some items require more than a standard moving crew and a blanket. Pianos, gun safes, antique furniture, large works of art, grandfather clocks, pool tables, and other oversized or high-value items demand specialized knowledge, the right equipment, and the kind of careful, methodical approach that only comes from genuine experience. A Plus Moving provides specialty moving services in Huntsville, Alabama for exactly these situations.

The most common specialty move we handle is the piano. Pianos are extraordinarily heavy, mechanically complex, and acoustically sensitive. Moving one incorrectly does not just risk scratching the finish — it risks structural damage, mechanical damage, and tuning disruption that can cost far more to repair than the move itself. Our team uses the correct dollies, straps, ramps, and wrapping materials to move upright pianos, baby grands, and grand pianos safely and efficiently. We assess the access points, plan the route, and execute with the care the instrument demands.

Gun safes and large home safes present a different challenge — primarily weight and structural integrity of the floors and doorways involved. We assess every aspect of a safe move before it begins: the weight of the unit, the path from current location to destination, the floor surfaces involved, and the entry and exit points at both locations. Our crew has the equipment and the experience to move safes that would be genuinely dangerous without proper preparation.

We also handle antique furniture, oversized mirrors, large-format artwork, and other high-value items that require custom wrapping, careful handling, and extra attention throughout the move. If you have an item that other moving companies in Huntsville have quoted but then declined, or that you simply do not trust to a general crew — call A Plus Moving. We will assess it honestly and tell you exactly how we would approach it.

Specialty moves in Huntsville, Madison, and across North Alabama are available as standalone services or as part of a broader moving package. Contact us today for a free consultation and quote.
